This is our first release of a busy 2013 and will be shipping in January. This is one of our most anticipated products of the last 12 months, and the one we have had the most questions and information requests about. The set looks fantastic and it’s full of new art from some top creators. The set will cover the first 12 short stories and it will act as a companion to the book. For this release we decided to change things around a little, and we are reverting back to a 3 pack set. Each pack will be labelled A, B or C. Collecting one of each will ensure you complete the basic cards while all chase and premium inserts remain random. This is what we did with our first Sherlock release 2 years ago and it seemed like a good time to try it again!

This set has our widest variety of inserts to date. Of course you will find sketch cards and autographs (including cut signatures from Rathbone and Brett). Additionally we have artefact cards and first edition cards. These cards contain real fragments of the first ever published editions of the stories, along with images and identifiable passages. Rescued from damaged and partially destroyed vintage 1890’s copies of “The Strand” we have come up with a way to present and save parts of these fantastic stories first published more than a century ago. This will allow collectors to own an identifiable part of a real first edition. This includes passages from the first ever published short story “A Scandal in Bohemia” and many others. These are really very very cool cards.

You will find one premium insert in every pack with 1/3 of the basic set and a selection of chase cards! This set is obviously very limited and of course we will have an early order bonus card again. Check out the product page for more details!

The 2012 Cult Stuff Mystery Boxes are now available for pre-order! Check out the product pages for more information, and grab them while you can these are limited to just 60 boxes!

With 1 day left to go the last of the 2011 Mystery Boxes will at least be auctioned off. You can find it listed over at the Trading Card Auctions site. 50% of the proceeds are going to charity and we have added some fantastic extras in with this special listing! That leads us nicely into the new 2012 Mystery boxes. We had a number of unhappy folks last year as we only produced 30 of these sets, but realistically a lot of the cards and products that go into these boxes are very labour intensive so we have to balance that against demand, and of course we want to keep these limited for the collectors out there.

We came to the decision to double the print run this time, now we will release 60 Mystery boxes at £60.00 each. This is not the only change we have made: This year the boxes are bigger and filled with a LOT more fantastic and exclusive stuff.

Items in the boxes come from a range of all our products.

You will find at least 4-5 premium inserts, of which no less than 2 will be sketch cards though many boxes will have more. The sketches will be from a range of sets and some will include cards that simply arrived to late for inclusion into products! You will also find at least one of our sealed products, which will of course still include any premium inserts it came with.

On top of that you will find memorabilia cards, autographs, exclusive promos, sets, exclusive chase cards and lots of variants! We are also going to be including some uncut sheets, and original card artwork in some of these boxes! Oh did I mention the case and multi case incentives? Not all of these are taken up by dealers so what we have left from our products will be added into the mix!  We also have some errors and test cards going that never normally make it into the collecting world.

These will be shipping in December and will include cards not only from earlier releases, but also from Dracula and Sherlock Holmes, along with some from our unannounced end of year product. For a hint on that check out the image at the end of this post.  The Mystery boxes will be available for Pre-order in the next few days!

We are also very pleased to announce the inclusion of some fantastic art from the talented Al Davison. His work in the comic industry is well known and he is not only contributing basic cards but he has agreed to completable some limited sketch cards! We will be working with Al on a number of future projects and helping to support some of his creator owned projects. For now enjoy a sneak preview at some of his sketches! This factory set is very very limited (only 36 cases) and every set comes with a sketch! The base card art is supplied by three amazing illustrators Aly Fell, Josh Werner and Robert Hack, and these cards look fantastic. Shipping: End of Aug. Wholesale enquires are welcome.

Pulp Detectives Ships next month (August) The basic and chase cards are printed and collated we are waiting on some sketch cards. This is going to be a very limited very premium product (36 cases). More details will follow shortly.

Lots to talk about but very little time!

Let’s start with the latest on Titanic.

The set is nearly done, with more sketch cards coming in all the time we are waiting on the final cards to come back from printing and the Hobby sets will be shipping in the very near future, (days not weeks) with retail following a week or so after. These cards look fantastic and we expect everyone will be very happy with the results. The set is late, this is for a few reasons the main ones being technical problems with some of the higher end chase cards which we had to resolve, and unfortunately staff illness. Things are back on course and moving quickly. We will have new images up for you this week! If we slip on our shipping times we will of course let folks know!

We also have some new licensing agreements and sets to announce shortly and we have been talking to some fantastic illustrators you can expect more on this soon. We have been talking to folks like Anne Stokes, Kev Crossley, David Millgate, Manon, Dave Kendall and a few others and you can expect to see some interesting individual sets, along with a large  collaborative project that will incorporate a lot of these folks in one project along with the likes of Matt Dixon and Aly Fell.

We have also been talking to Markosa Comics and it looks like we will be doing some work with them, both in terms of sets and promos for some of the books they produce. More details on that as things are finalized.

The art of J.D. Seeber is progressing but his busy work schedule is keeping him tied up so the sketches for his project are fitting in between. The good news is more than 30 are completed so things are moving forward! J.D. has also signed up for our Dracula set out in October, and that set is really taking shape now.

Before that of course you will see Pulp Detectives which is going to be a very small set, with a sketch in every pack and an ultra limited basic set these will probably not be around for long. The sketch cards we have coming back are fantastic and you will see this shipping in the next 60 days. You can see a lot of base card images from Aly Fell and Robert Hack in this months NonSport Update and we will have sketch images popping up on the site shortly.

For a number of reasons Sherlock Holmes has been put back until at least November, with so many sets coming out in such a short time it was felt that not enough time could be dedicated to the project to make it as detailed as we wanted to. We also wanted to give the illustrators more time the cards and it will allow us to source more material for the set. We also have a number of announcements regarding other sets including a very fun licensed project we are finalising the details on! More on that later.

Last thing: Military Propaganda Poster Redemptions:

These are shipping out as fast as we get them, we have had some problems with a few of them, all of this is sorted out now. You will get a “clean” version of the redemption card with your item, OR a card that details the item you have received, so YES you will be able to keep a copy of the card in the collection with your item.
