Topps Twilight Autograph Cards PROOF

Letter from Topps clearly showing the redemption information

So a lot of naysayers harped on about the lack of autographs from the new Topps Twilight set, calling into question both the legitimacy of the Topps advertisements and our reporting on the cards. You all know who you are, and you can now wallow in your wrongatude and bow to the Truthiness of our original report. One of our readers HAS pulled an autograph card and kindly supplied me with photos of the card both front and back, AND a copy of the letter from Topps for those who have a distrustful nature.

Topps Autograph

Its an Ashley Greene autograph card and there was just a three week turnaround time on the redemption so we can assume that’s how long it takes Topps to order from Amazon and affix a sticker…  It looks a little bit like another card…

The fact is however this was a MASS market product released throughout Europe, with a very large print run, yet only 1000 redemption’s so finding one was always going to be a needle in the hay stack.

That said some interesting things have cropped up, because of these photos and the comments from the lucky owner.

First of all this card is NOT the same size as the other over-sized Topps Photo Cards, it is regular card size (2.5×3.5).

Auto Back from NECA?

Topps and NECA? WTF

More interesting than that it seems to have the NECA logo in the bottom right hand side of the back of the card, yet smack in the middle of the lower back is the Topps Authentic Hologram

In fact this is EXACTLY the same card issued with the jewellery set on Amazon but with a Topps hologram stuck on the back. Originally these cards were listed as limited to 3000 on Amazon, now add another 1000 for Topps.

This is just bizarre and a massive slight of hand. Topps are issuing NECA Cards and just adding stickers to them.  The whole thing seems more than a little on the shady side. I will update this if Topps UK respond to my requests for a comment.

(Thanks again to Violet from London for providing the photos and congratulations on pulling a very very rare card).
